Community Highlights: Meet Shari Leidich of Know Brainer Foods - Max Sweets

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shari Leidich, founder of Know Brainer Foods.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?

My name is Shari Leidich, a serial entrepreneur. Here is a bit about my background:

In 2004, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, which led me to learn about diet’s benefits on health and wellness. In 2005, I founded Two Moms in the Raw – a company known for sprouted, organic snacks – grew it into a multi-million-dollar business. I built on that success, publishing the Two Moms in the Raw, simple, clean, irresistible recipes for your family’s health cookbook.

Sadly, we brought in very toxic and troubled individuals who forced me to leave Two Moms. I could no longer deal with the duplicity and outright abusive behavior. In 2016, I turned my attention to your morning coffee by launching Know Brainer – grab-n-go award-winning coffee creamers and instant beverages infused with ingredients that improve brain health. In 2019, I launched the award-winning Max Mallow, which became the first of many products for our Max Sweets line.

I have been a pioneer all along and was ahead of the curve with raw foods, but then awareness of the benefits-built demand – and now Max Sweets is following the same trajectory.

I currently support all research and development and manage all sales, marketing, and customer service for Max Sweets. Our first launch has been our zero-sugar marshmallow fueled with collagen, MCT, and Prebiotic fiber-the first of its kind. We have also launched a zero sugar and zero sugar alcohol vegan mallow, followed by a zero-sugar ad zero sugar alcohol marshmallow. We also offer zero sugar chocolates.

Max Sweets is growing online, and in retailers like Walmart and CVS. I look forward to the day when Max Sweets is a household name.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?

I included some of this in my b1io. Having MS is never easy but I have managed to be in remission using food and herbs to heal, without medicine.

Building a very successful brand like Two Moms in the Raw was a dream come true. Sometime after we took on investment, our sales plateaued. The investors brought on very toxic individuals who literally drained the soul of my company. Little did I know these individuals had an awful reputation in the industry. Ironically, they rebranded Two Moms to Soul Sprout–without the soul.

I started over in 2016 with a new company Know Brainer Foods, which has grown faster than Two Moms. We are women-owned and women-run. I am so excited with what we have accomplished in the confections space and look forward to further disrupting sweet treats.

As you know, we’re big fans of Know Brainer Foods. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?

Know Brainer Foods is women-owned and women-run. I work with my partners, Miche Bacher, chef extraordinaire) and Lisa Simpson (Creative Director). We are all moms who do pretty much everything from taking care of our families to building a strong brand and company where we value all of our employees and have created a very supportive and inclusive culture.

As the primary owner, Shari Leidich I touch all aspects of my business including research and development, logistics, sales, marketing, and customer service.

We offer zero sugar-sweet treats packed with nutrition to fuel the mind and body. we offer zero sugar:

-collagen marshmallows

-vegan marshmallows (zero sugar alcohol)
